I have had the good fortune to attend many of the Fish Decoy Shows and contests in Minnesota and Michigan over the past several years. It is fun to compete in the contests against my fellow carvers. It is also fun just to attend these shows to meet people and to admire other's handmade lures and carvings. I have made some good friends at these events, and have had the good fortune to be able to spend time with them at other times of the year as well, spearing, fishing and other activities. These experiences are far more valuable to me than any ribbons and awards I may have won.
